A main focus of the USTPA is on club growth and sustainability—this concerns the unique area of youth work, in order to recruit and retain youth/junior riders in the best interest for the future of the sport of tent pegging. Other goals include intended partnerships with local colleges for interscholastic/collegiate teams.
The USTPA will be structured to provide all the equine management aspects for students, as well as travel/game setup/facilities/equipment, and instruction.
The responsibility of the students is to set up games with other schools in coordination with the manager, prepare all horses for competition, and serve certain duties during games such as hot-walking, scoring, flag goals, and time.
